IMAGE: the over determined meters where the morphemes and sememes forged through the backward logic of meaning-making and language, manifest, inseparable from the ideological remnants of that which "came before". . . their story.

Their signifying trick is in the Intersections; edges butting up against edges, textures morphing with an urgency...or a reluctance, colors congeal into forms congeal into signifieds as the brain attempts to reassure through a frantic drive to make meaning of every impulse; to Be, and, to Know.

The visual always moves from the external world to the internal. And, here again, on this, the level of Roland Barthes' myth, there are more Intersections; ideological edges butting up against ideological edges, value and narrative and affect congeal into the structures through which naming, separation, and difference become possible......inevitable......demanding......

The visual form calls out to you to recognize it in its completeness, to affirm all that you know through its refracting fragments [form = that which is always inseperable from ideology] and you cannot refuse its visage.

We invite you into our particular genealogy of meanings; an archeological excavation into the signifying logic of the overdetermined meters of this vision/image. Though the sands of signification may shift even radically under your feet, though you may question our motives, you still must ask "from where do I "know" this? What logic does live behind the specifics of color and form? At what temporal data point do "I "stop the process of semiosis, or, does this enterprise continue despite (to-spite) me, unchecked and unmmediated in the personal/cultural Unconscious?
